The United States has been an international outlier regarding the degree of its support for Israel’s war on Gaza despite the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe and growing domestic and international opposition. In this lecture, Professor Stephen Zunes examines the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s military offensive, the historic role the United States has played in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the reasons behind U.S. policy.
